Experience the elegance of the highest quality, custom made and
professionally installed awnings on your home. You've made the
investment in a deck or patio with the intention of enjoying the
outdoors; now, with the touch of a button, you can.
Designed to block the sun and rain while retaining your view,
Buzzman’s Premier Heavy Duty Awnings can be extended and
retracted by a manual crank, electric motor and/or automatic
weather sensors (the Buzzmantm wind sensor - see
below).
Buzzman’s Premier Rollout Awnings add to your outdoor enjoyment
and make indoor living more comfortable by allowing
complete control of the amount of sunlight that enters your
home. This saves cooling costs and protects the contents of your
home from the fading effects of ultraviolet sunlight.
FRAMES
Our Frames are the most vital part of a rollout awning system and no two
are alike! The Premier Buzzman™ model is manufactured using all heavy
duty components with a thick, white PVC coating. The main support bar
(square bar) is high torsion, thick aluminum alloy with thick PVC
coating for maximum strength and longevity.
ARMS
This is what truly separates us from ALL competition and vital for use
in heavy rain and windy conditions. Our arms are constructed using
double cables and triple springs sealed inside for water tightness.
Double strength and added stiffness allows maximum use on windy beach
fronts
BRACKETS
Our mounting brackets are heavy, thick aluminum alloy with thick PVC
coating to ensure complete protection from the elements.
FABRICS
Our fabrics are custom made and sewn on a $2,000,000 Robotic sewing
machine, and GUARANTEED not to separate. We offer over 400 Sunbrella and
Dickson brand canvas fabric selections, made of 100% acrylic and with a
5 year GUARANTY against fading or fraying.
MOTORS
Our electric motors are completely sealed and then inserted inside the
fabric roller tube of the awning, never being exposed to the elements.
The torque required to roll the awning in and out is always constant
which allows motors to run almost indefinitely without break downs or
service (15 years of uninterrupted service is expected). Our motors are
priced up to $500 less than our competitors.
CONTROLS
Our “Buzzman™” wind sensor is a propeller sensor that will automatically
retract your awning at the first 35-mile per hour gust and then check
every 12 minutes. If the storm has past, it will then automatically roll
your awning back out. Alternatively, it can be programmed to stay in
after the fist gust of wind is detected. Remote control, wall switch
control, or hand crank* options are available. *The “Buzzman™” wind
sensor is not available with the hand crank option.

Why the Buzzman?
It's the BrEEze!
|
The "Buzz Man" wind sensor is
an adjustable (by the installer) motorized
propeller sensor that will roll your awning in
automatically at the first 15-35-mile per hour
gust (set accordingly to the size of your
awning, and special needs, depending on size and
exposure, to keep it safe. It then checks every
12-min. To see if the storm has passed. It can
be set to roll the awning back out automatically
or can be set to stay in and shut off
automatically. This optional unit is highly
recommended for awnings wider than15' x 10' as
the larger the unit, the great susceptibility
there is to damage by strong wind.

The Buzzman Supreme model is made up of all heavy American
made stock components, thick, white epoxy/PVC coated/full
bath dipped over heavy aluminum alloy frames. Alloy is
stronger than plain aluminum and has an elastic quality
under stress to return to shape. Other companies import
German, Italian, or French awnings and other lightweight,
thin models for light wind and no rain only. Premier will
never use these inferior systems.
The competitors’ frames are thinner, white powder baked
enamel paint, or, anodized coated on lighter and thinner
plain aluminum frames (The best competitor level is 6063
T-6). They mix their frames with steel, main support square
bars and round tubes, which will cause metal erosion and
corrosion. Our coatings and All Alloy Frames (where 14 out
of 16 of our main frame components parts are higher level
than 6063T-6) are vital in providing resiliency to salt on
ocean fronts and protection in humid climates. The thicker
the coating, the better (our coatings are 3-times thicker
than the standard in the industry). Increased strength of
the Premier unit is up to 3-times thicker in the gauge of
the aluminum alloy and using the higher strength levels
available for alloy products, makes it one of the best in
the world. Our main support square bar, main support front
bar with built-in gutter, and roller tube are high torsion,
maximum strength alloy which stops the metal erosion and
corrosion of a dissimilar metals giving us longevity with
heavy rain and wind strength. The competitions' frames are
often standard aluminum with non-aluminum square bar and no
protection inside the steel bar to stop corrosion, and no
torsion or twist and bounce back ability when under stress.
Our
frames are manufactured here in the USA - here are some
photos of our production facility

ARMS
Our awning arms have triple springs sealed inside for water
tightness. Double strength and added stiffness allows
maximum use on windy beach fronts etc. Competitors’ versions
have single or double cable arms or fabric straps, with
standard strength springs, allowing reduced tension of the
main deck fabric. Their main deck fabric will droop, while
our main deck fabric looks like a flat piece of wood, all
the way across the whole awning.
BRACKETS
Our brackets are heavy, thick aluminum alloy with thick
epoxy/PVC coating to ensure complete protection from the
elements. The competitors' brackets are lighter and thinner,
and just plain aluminum, powder baked enamel.
FABRICS
We use CBM Collection, Sunbrella, and Dickson
as they are 100% acrylic, including the trim. They can be
rolled up even when wet, without forming mildew and provide
the highest longevity for awning material used in roll out
awnings. There are 300 colors to choose from with companion
trim valance included. We have our own special cleaner;
Buzzman Awning Juice Cleaner. Spray on
straight....don't scrub or hose......eats dirt for three
weeks. Keeps awnings like new for up to fifteen years if
used twice per year, or as needed. Our awnings always look
new if used as needed.
MOTORS
Electric motors are completely sealed and then inserted
inside the fabric roller tube of the awning, never being
exposed to the elements. The torque required to roll the
awning in and out is always constant which allows motors to
run almost indefinitely without breakdowns of service (15
years of uninterrupted service is common and 10 years is
almost expected). On heavy aluminum hurricane shutters the
torque is constantly changing during the retraction,
becoming harder as it rolls up. This is what takes a toll on
these motors and slowly deteriorates them. The retractable
roll out awnings always have a lighter, constant torque
requirement and therefore perform their task day in and day
out on an extremely low level requirement from their
available capability.

The Differences
|

1. This is the competition’s "Heavy" model. It has a
slight bow in the fabric. In contrast, the Buzzman
Awning is flat, like a piece of wood, all the way
across. Our arms and frame are more rigid, giving the
product superior strength.
2. The middle of the arm is rubbing on the fabric
underneath; our Buzzman will never do that. Our arms are
triple angled to stay 12" under the center elbow and yet
come within 3" from the fabric at each end. The result:
No loss of headroom!
3. The competition’s steel main square frame bar and
steel roller tube will create metal erosion and corrode,
especially if located near the ocean. Our Buzzman frame
is all aluminum alloy and will not have this erosion and
corrosion problem.
4. The competition doesn’t recommend using their awning
in heavy rain or wind, At All! Most competitors models,
are limited to a mild 10-15 MPH light breeze, even with
a wind sensor, attached. They must have their awnings
rolled in at a much lower setting, than our heavier
Buzzman system. The Buzzman Awning is designed to be
used in higher level winds and heavy rain, and has
constantly been used in rough weather by most our
customers since 1996. When the wind reaches 40 m.p.h.
Our retractable spring action will automatically release
the tension for safety, however, damage can still result
at this level, and possibly at lower levels, depending
on the size and exposure, as well as the speed of a
storm, such as a tornado (which are buried inside
thunder head storms), and can go from zero wind and no
apparent storm or danger, to an Instant.....100 MPH
Wind, in less than a few seconds, right over your awning
..............which is why we advise the use of a
Buzzman wind sensor, to provide more insurance and extra
safety, to have many years of enjoyment in the use of
your Buzzman Awning.
As with anything in this world, nothing can be 100%
care-free. Things can go wrong, right at the wrong
moment, such as a power-outage, electrical failure, or
an instant storm that drops down out of no-where, etc.
Nothing takes the place of using good common sense, in
the use of any product, and the Buzzman Awning is no
different. The wind sensor would need at least one
gust, beyond the set wind limit, to trigger an automatic
roll-up, before a storm barrels in, to successfully save
your awning.
For Greater Success.....It can be used accordingly: The
rule of thumb is; If the weather is too awful for you
to be out in the elements, then it is too awful for your
Buzzman Awning to be out (rolled out and in use). Most
customers roll up their Buzzman awning, every night, and
use it as needed in the daytimes or evenings, Rain or
Shine.....when they are there to monitor it.
Our Buzzman wind sensor has been created as added peace
of mind, and extra insurance, to increase the use and
extended time that it is opened and in use, however, it
cannot be relied on 100%, as nothing in this world is
100% fool proof. Many customers do use the Buzzman wind
sensor to monitor the first gust of wind, to
automatically and safely roll it in, and have it set to
roll back out when the gusts have subsided. This does
work well for most of these customers, for years and
years, as long as they have their installer set the wind
sensor at a lower than normal level, based on the size
and exposure of their particular awning.
The standard Buzzman wind sensor setting;........ Is to
have it set, based on its size and installation
exposure, to roll in at a safe level of wind, that is
reaching close to its maximum limits, and stay rolled
in, and shut off, for the rest of the day. This type of
use, would be the closest thing to gaining an almost
100% fool proof system, that could be marginally
monitored while in use, and is most recommended by us.
